In a social media post on Wednesday, December 1st AdventHealth Palm Coast announced the following:

“Starting today, we will have a dedicated interfacility ambulance. This is exciting news because now we will be able to transfer patients directly instead of only relying on the Flagler County EMS. We prayed a blessing over the ambulance and we are ready to save even more lives.”

“This ambulance will help us more quickly and conveniently transport patients who may require a higher acuity of care. For example, we might need to transport a patient to Daytona, Jacksonville or Orlando to receive tertiary or quaternary services. Previously we would have to rely on the county EMS for most of our intrafacility transports, but their primary mission and focus is 911 response. So this really helps all of us – our patients, care team and partners in the community,” said AdventHealth spokesman David Breen.

“Having this ambulance benefits our patients and clinical teams, allowing for quicker and more convenient care,” said Dr. Mark Kilman, chief medical officer of AdventHealth Palm Coast. “It also allows the county ambulances to focus on their primary mission of 911 response.”
