Palm Coast – The City of Palm Coast’s Finance team is being recognized for their diligence in providing public awareness and a simple overview of the City’s financial position to keep residents updated and informed.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada announced Tuesday, Feb. 23 it has awarded the City of Palm Coast the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2019.

The award represents a significant achievement by the City. In order to be eligible for the PAFR award, a government must also submit its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) to GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellent in Financial Reporting Program and receive the CAFR award for the current fiscal year. Each eligible report is reviewed by judges who evaluate the report based on the following categories: reader appeal, understandability, distribution methods, creativity and other elements.

The Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting is a prestigious national award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government popular reports.
