BUNNELL, Fla. – What do MrBeast, Spider-Man, Roblox, and A Minecraft Movie all have in common? In Flagler County, they just won big with one of the most enthusiastic electorates around—kids.

During Bring Your Kid To Work Day 2026, the Flagler County Supervisor of Elections office hosted a lively “election” where 121 future voters cast their ballots for their favorites. The result? A fun, fast-paced introduction to civic engagement that swapped policy debates for pop culture—but still delivered a powerful lesson about the importance of voting.

“Bring A Kid To Work Day is an annual event for county employees and their children to explore, learn, and experience local government in action,” said Kaiti Lenhart. “Activities highlighted hands-on learning, creativity, and community engagement.”

And there was no shortage of that.

From emergency response demonstrations with Flagler County Fire Rescue and 911/Dispatch to interactive stops with Public Works, Engineering, and the Library, kids got a behind-the-scenes look at how their community runs. Offices including the Clerk of the Court and Comptroller, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, Sheriff’s Office, Flagler Schools, and more all joined in—marking the fourth year this countywide collaboration has brought local government to life for young participants.

But it was the voting booth that truly stole the show.

Armed with ballots and big opinions, kids stepped up to make their voices heard—some for their favorite YouTubers, others for superheroes or games. It may not have been a traditional election, but the excitement was real, and the lesson stuck: voting matters, and everyone has a voice.

“Thanks to everyone who helped coordinate the details and provided activities for the children!” Lenhart added, emphasizing the community effort behind the day’s success.

If these 121 participants are any indication, the future of civic engagement in Flagler County looks bright—and maybe just a little more fun.
