FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Real estate professional Eddie Lang recently had his Christmas wish come true a little early.

As membership numbers at the Palm Coast–Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce continued to rise, Lang mentioned he hoped to become the Chamber’s 200th member—a milestone he felt was worth celebrating. In the first week of December, the Chamber’s membership count neared that number, prompting a call from the Chamber team.

“I wanted to be 200 because it’s just a big milestone for our Chamber, and I wanted to be the face of that milestone,” Lang said during the Flagler Broadcasting holiday party and Chamber Business After Hours event on December 11.

Lang recalled receiving a message the morning before the milestone was reached. “I got a text message yesterday morning and it said, ‘Hey, we’re at 199.’ I said, ‘Alright, I’m going to come by today.’ So I waited, and I waited, and I waited—and I forgot all about it,” he said with a laugh. “Then Kelsie (Lombard) got back to me and said, ‘Oh yeah, come over!’ I ran over there and sure enough, I did it.”

With many organizations supporting the local small business community, Lang said he was excited to add Chamber membership to his professional toolbox.

“I think, one, JP (John Phillips, Chamber president) is doing an amazing job. I think Kelsie’s doing an amazing job,” Lang said. “For leadership and community involvement, I love this community. I’m part of this community. I didn’t grow up here like a lot of people or live here for 20, 30, or 40 years, but this is where I’m raising my family. This is something special, and I want to be here forever.”
