Palm Coast, Fla. – To ensure a healthier and more robust environment for our furry friends, the reopening of the small dog park at James F. Holland Memorial Park will be extended to Sunday, April 29th. The newly planted seeds are just beginning to germinate and require additional time to establish properly for suitable use.
Originally scheduled for improvements from Monday, April 8th, with a reopening on Monday, April 22nd, the park is undergoing several enhancements designed to improve the experience for both dogs and their owners. These improvements include:
- Replacing Sod: Parks staff are revitalizing the worn grass areas by cutting out affected areas and re-sodding to create a lush, comfortable environment for dogs.
- Adding Concrete: A 4-foot concrete apron is being added around the northeast area of the pavilion to help control roof runoff erosion.
- Block Wall Installation: A new block wall will be constructed along the northwest side of the pavilion to manage runoff issues.
- Irrigation Adjustments: Adjustments and repairs to the irrigation system are being made to ensure the new sod receives adequate water.
- While the small dog park is closed, we encourage dog owners to visit the nearby Lehigh Trailhead at 1290 Belle Terre Pkwy, which features separate areas for small and large dogs to play and socialize.
