Palm Coast – Road injuries are the leading cause of unintentional deaths to children in the United States. Correctly used, child safety seats can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71 percent. The best way to keep your child safe in the car is to use the right car seat in the right way.

The Palm Coast Fire Department is taking a proactive step to improve child passenger safety by hosting a Car Seat Safety Check event on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held at Palm Coast City Hall- parking lot, located at 160 Lake Ave., Palm Coast. Participants are kindly requested to bring their vehicle and children’s safety seat along with applicable product manuals, if available.

This is a free community service event where residents are able to have their car seats inspected and checked for proper installation to help ensure and improve children safety in Palm Coast. Our Firefighters are certified technicians and will be on-site to inspect and assist with the installation of both new and used safety restraints, ensuring they adhere to current safety guidelines.
