Once every four years, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) must certify that the River to Sea TPO is carrying out the metropolitan transportation planning process in adherence with federal requirements. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) jointly conduct this review, make a certification determination, and produce a report that may include compliance issues (corrective actions), areas for improvement (recommendations), and/or notable practices (commendations). The evaluation includes everything our agency works on from transportation planning to public outreach to the financial health of the agency.
A public meeting is held as part of the certification in order for FHWA and FTA to receive feedback from the public and stakeholders on the transportation planning processes conducted by the River to Sea TPO.
The Federal Certification Public Meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 5:00 – 6:00 pm in the Airline Room at the Daytona Beach Internation Airport. Parking will be validated.
