1. How did you get into Olivia Newton-John? (Was there a pivotal moment or song that got you hooked?)

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved Grease—that was definitely my first introduction to Olivia. I loved singing along to her songs from the movie; “Hopelessly Devoted,” “You’re The One That I Want,” and “Summer Nights” were my favorites (and still are!).

I started my singing career on cruise ships and spent 12 years performing hundreds of songs, but funny enough, Olivia’s music was never part of my shows. It wasn’t until later in my career, on a long car ride with my husband, that we put on a playlist of her songs. Suddenly, it hit me like a ton of bricks—I absolutely love singing her music, and her voice feels so similar to mine. I rediscovered so many of her songs that I hadn’t heard in years or was hearing for the first time. That car ride was the spark for The Olivia Show, and after three years of hard work, creativity, and practice, it became a reality.

2. How exciting is it for you to get to sing some of the most famous hits in pop culture over so many decades?

It’s incredible! Olivia dominated the charts for over two decades with a huge number of hit songs. When we were putting together The Olivia Show, we had so many songs to choose from that it was actually tough to decide which ones would make the cut. We managed to fit over 23 of her top songs into a 90-minute show, which is no small feat. Getting to perform these iconic hits and see the audience light up is truly a thrill every single show.

3. Did you ever get to meet Olivia Newton-John, and if so, what was that like for you? If not, what would you have liked for her to know?

I always dreamed of meeting Olivia and would have loved to attend one of her concerts, but it never worked out—especially with all my years performing and traveling on cruise ships. After creating The Olivia Show, I hoped that one day she might come see it. She was so supportive of other artists that I truly believe she would have tried if she’d had the chance. Sadly, that dream never came true because we lost her too soon to cancer. I had a show that same week, and it was hard performing her music knowing she was no longer with us. Thankfully, the audience was so supportive, and we all celebrated her beautiful music together.

4. What can the audience expect from The Olivia Show?

Expect the unexpected! We hit the stage running with some of the best songs ever recorded. The show features hits from Xanadu, her country years, her ’70s classics, unforgettable duets, and of course, all the favorites from Grease. There are costume changes, singing, dancing, acting, and so much more. My singer, Aaron Scheff, joins me on stage as we sing and dance our way through Olivia’s amazing catalog.

Some of the best compliments we get are, “We didn’t know we knew and loved so many of Olivia’s songs!” and “The Olivia Show has so much energy!” Once you see the show, you’ll know exactly what they mean. There’s no standing still in our show—it’s high energy from start to finish!

5. What advice would you give an aspiring student of the arts who dreams of being on the big stage?

Hustle, and don’t listen to the naysayers! If you can’t imagine doing anything else, then dive in—learn as much as you can about your craft and practice every chance you get. Find a way to get there, even if it’s just a small start. You’ll make mistakes along the way, but those experiences will shape you into a better performer and artist. Keep at it, and you’ll be unstoppable!

The Olivia Show will be on stage at the Fitzgerald Performing Arts Center on April 19, 2025 at 7 PM. Ticket Information Here.
