DAYTONA BEACH – SMA Healthcare’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Rhonda Harvey has announced that she will retire from her role, effective July 1, 2023. Harvey, who has been with SMA Healthcare for 29 years, will move to the role of Director of External Affairs, effective January 1.
“Words just don’t do justice what Rhonda Harvey means both to SMA Healthcare and to me, personally,” said CEO Ivan Cosimi. “We are incredibly thankful for her long-term commitment to our mission and know she will be missed as she takes this next step in her career. She is a tremendous asset to our organization and we look forward to what this chapter brings for her.”
Rhonda began at SMA Healthcare in 1994 when the organization was known as Stewart-Marchman Center, prior to the merger with ACT Corporation in 2008.
“SMA Healthcare has had a remarkable impact on my life and I am proud of all the work we were able to accomplish in my time here,” said Harvey. “Decisions like this are never easy, but I look forward to the next stage of my life and seeing how our organization continues to flourish and the impact it makes in our communities.”
As Harvey shifts to a new role, SMA is pleased to announce three staff promotions – Nicole Sharbono to COO, Sarah Burman to Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), and Kelly Mellichampe to Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective January 1, 2023.
“I am excited to announce all three of these well-deserved promotions,” said Cosimi. “These promotions will increase our administrative capacity as we continue to extend our service footprint and allow us to accomplish even more as an organization.”
