PARSIPPANY, N.J. – April 5, 2023 – POCN, the largest nurse practitioner (NP) and PA network in the United States, has named Folusho Ogunfiditimi, DM, MPH, PA-C, as the 2023 Q1 NP/PA Community Advocacy Award winner. This quarterly award is aimed at supporting and uplifting NPs and PAs who are making a difference in healthcare while also supporting the organizations that advocate for NP/PA community support. Ogunfiditimi is the president-elect of the American Academy of PAs (AAPA).
Ogunfiditimi has worked for over two decades in patient care, inpatient hospital administration, and outpatient clinical practice management, while providing senior leadership and oversight to PAs, NPs, and physicians. In addition to his national leadership role with the AAPA, Ogunfiditimi is the practice management administrator at Florida Health Care Plans. In this role, he oversees the clinical operations of 23 ambulatory multi-specialty practices across five counties in Central Florida.
Ogunfiditimi is an avid supporter of the African Heritage PA Caucus (AHPAC), an international mentorship organization that empowers PAs of African heritage and the populations they serve. As part of this award, POCN will make a donation to support AHPAC’s minority PA scholarship program and Project Access—an AHPAC program that encourages middle school and high school students in minority, underrepresented, and rural communities to pursue a career as a PA.
“Thank you to POCN for this honor and for its donation to the AHPAC. The AHPAC has been near and dear to my heart ever since I became a PA 24 years ago. The AHPAC has long been a pillar in the Black PA community and the PA profession as a whole. The AHPAC’s PA student scholarship support and advocating for introduction into the PA profession at an early school age remains a bedrock of its core mission, and I hope to continue to support the AHPAC in any capacity I find myself,” says Ogunfiditimi.
“Folusho is a nationally recognized leader in the PA community and plays a critical role in the healthcare space in Central Florida. We are inspired by his dedication to his fellow PAs, his support for minority and underrepresented communities, and the future of the profession. Congratulations, Folusho, on this well-deserved award,” says Richard Zwickel, founder and CEO of POCN.

About POCN
POCN, the largest network of NPs and PAs, is a trusted source for over 400,000 NPs and PAs who utilize POCN to connect with their peers, support and shape NP/PA education, stay up to date on the latest healthcare news, find earning opportunities including their next jobs, and access resources to improve patient outcomes. Traditionally, the physician community has received the majority of funding and resourcing, resulting in an underappreciation of the NP/PA community. POCN recognizes the need to advocate, support, and educate NPs and PAs. The organization does this through data and support services. For more information, visit www.pocn.com.
