Palm Coast – The Palm Coast Fire Department will mark the return of its long-standing Hall of Terror event this Halloween season, as it makes its return to Fire Station 21 on Friday 30, and Saturday, October 31. This year’s theme will be a return to cinematic horror’s roots with ‘Universal Monsters.’
Founded in 2001 by Former Palm Coast Fire Chief Jerry Forte, and former Lt. Rich Cline, the event has seen a major evolution over the last quarter-century of its stand, from a small decorative Halloween outing with candy giveaways to local youth, to a full-scale haunted house akin to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights and other similar attractions. Last year’s Hall of Terror drew nearly 6,000 attendees to the attraction over its two-day stand.
Event Director Lt. Dan Driscoll, who has acted as the event’s “Boo Master” for the last 13 years, has announced that he will be relinquishing his crown following this year’s Hall of Terror, but has already announced his successors, and is looking forward to still contributing to the event in years to come.
“It’s a bittersweet feeling to be leaving the helm of the Hall of Terror after this year, but I have no doubt that our new ‘Boo Masters’ are ready to steer this event into the future and continue its tremendous success,” said Lt. Dan Driscoll. “I’m excited to see where these guys take the event next year and into the future and look forward to continuing to take part in the event in some capacity.”
As in previous years, volunteers are needed for all aspects of the event, including performers, technical assistants, makeup artists, production design, etc. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the volunteer form. High School students may use this as an opportunity to get community service hours. A special meeting and rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Fire Station 21.
The Hall of Terror will be open from 7pm-10pm on both Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31 at Fire Station 21 (9 Corporate Drive). A special low-sensory hour will take place between 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for attendees with sensory sensitivities. Parking is available at the adjacent parking lot, and display signage will be on the roadways to assist with parking. Additional overflow parking will be available in Kohl’s parking lot if necessary. As always, the Hall of Terror is free to attend, and is open to all ages. Parents or guardians are recommended for attendees under 13 years of age. Food Trucks will be on-site for both nights of the event, and the schedule is as follows:
