Flagler County, FL (November 11, 2021)- Surrounded by friends and family, cheers of congratulations went up as Thomas Piekarski was named the ‘Colonel Gary E. DeKay’ Flagler County Veteran of the Year.

Cheers go up as the Flagler County Veteran of the Year Thomas Piekarski, is announced during the 2021 Veteran’s Day ceremony on November 11, 2021 at the Flagler County Government Services Building.

With a long list of service to his credit, Piekarski accepted the honor with grace along with a challenge coin presented by retired U.S. Navy Captain Randy Stapleford, military and veterans affairs officer on behalf of U.S. Congressman Michael Waltz.

The ceremony included remarks by keynote speaker Randy Scott Morris, a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and member of the Sons of the American Revolution, and a patriotic poem by Knights of Columbus member Frank Consentino.
