Flagler Beach, FL – Marking the one year anniversary in style, Sheryl and Kevin Knopf kicked off a weekend of celebrations with a ribbon cutting on Friday, September 24th and didn’t stop the music until Sunday night.

With specials, live entertainment, a throwback to the 80’s and a new merchandise launch, The Anchor Restaurant in Flagler Beach was all Sheryl, as the landmark location’s owner and supported by her loving husband Kevin, could have hoped for as she marked her first year as an official restauranteur.

“I think just all of us getting through the pandemic safely we were very lucky. We only had to close the restaurant once,” said Sheryl. “I think that it’s just been a great year for us getting to know the team and the team getting to know us. Kevin and I both have full-time careers and it’s been both challenging and exciting balancing everything.”

Theirs has truly been a remarkable year in operation as a list of notable celebrities have come through their doors including 90’s pop star Tiffany for both New Years Eve 2020 and Valentine’s Day 2021 performances, country star Keith Burns made a special appearance and comedian and celebrity impersonator John Di Domenico performed a two-night sold show as President Donald Trump.

“It’s been crazy,” she said. “We had Tiffany a few times and I’ve actually become very friendly with her, we had John Di Domenico. One of the top impersonators of Trump in Vegas, and he does a lot of other celebrities, he’s been on Kimmel, Howard Stern, so having him here for that weekend was pretty cool. We’ll definitely have him back again.”

As for what’s next? Knopf is keeping it close to the vest, but says they’re wholly in love with the Flagler Beach community, and the those who have now become like family.

“How blessed we are to live in such a great little town and actually own a piece of it, and getting to know all the locals even better, we just love this town,” she said. “This is where we want to be.”

Flagler Beach Mayor Suzie Johnston says it’s just what the Flagler Beach community is all about.

“We wish them much success. They’ve had a great first year, some of the best food here in Flagler Beach and it’s amazing,” she said. “This corner has always been known to have the best seafood and Sheryl and Kevin definitely do not disappoint.”
