FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Flagler County Clerk of Circuit Court & Comptroller Tom Bexley launched a new monthly newsletter on Wednesday, designed to give residents a closer look at the services, programs and people who help keep county government running efficiently and transparently.
In his welcome message, Bexley said the publication reflects the office’s commitment to open communication and public service.
“It’s an honor to serve you as your Clerk of Circuit Court & Comptroller,” Bexley wrote. “Our goal is to provide clear, timely updates about court services, financial stewardship, community initiatives and the resources available to you.”
The newsletter highlights the Clerk’s role in supporting the courts, safeguarding public records and maintaining accountability in county finances while providing residents with practical information about available services.
“We believe that open communication strengthens public trust and helps ensure that every resident has access to the information they need,” Bexley said. “We are committed to providing exceptional service, strengthening public trust and making government more accessible for every resident.”
The inaugural edition features the theme, “Service, Accountability, and Community – Every Day”.
Services
Among the services highlighted was the Clerk’s Jury Services Division, which guides residents through every step of the jury process—from receiving a summons to courtroom orientation. The team works closely with judges and court staff to coordinate trial schedules while ensuring jurors have an organized, respectful and informative experience.
The newsletter also showcased the office’s Public Records Division, one of the Clerk’s most frequently used services. The division provides access to court records, property documents, marriage licenses and other official records through both in-person assistance and online search tools while maintaining the accuracy, security and transparency of public information.
Employee Spotlight
The first employee profile recognized Jannet Dewberry, Records Manager, who recently celebrated 10 years of service with the Flagler County Clerk’s Office.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Dewberry oversees the integrity, accessibility and preservation of Flagler County’s public records. She recently completed the Flagler Local Government Leadership Academy and graduated with honors from Flagler College in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration. This fall, she will begin pursuing a Master of Public Administration.
Protecting Property Owners
The newsletter encourages residents to enroll in the Clerk’s free Property Fraud Alert program, which monitors official records and notifies property owners if suspicious documents are recorded in their name.
The service is intended to help protect homeowners from property fraud and identity-related real estate crimes.
Investing in Customer Service
Readers also had the opportunity to learn about the recently completed expansion of the Central Cashiering area at the Kim C. Hammond Justice Center. The renovation is designed to improve customer service and efficiency while accommodating Flagler County’s continued growth.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completed project is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 7, at noon on the first floor of the courthouse.
Financial Transparency
The inaugural newsletter included a summary of the county’s annual independent financial audit conducted by James Moore & Company, as required by Florida law.
According to the audit summary, the county received:
