FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. – More than 250 walkers—and many more supporters—filled Veterans Park in Flagler Beach on Saturday, April 25, as Cedar Bridge Foundation hosted its first annual Autism Walk/Run & Family Fun Day in recognition of Autism Acceptance Month.
The event exceeded participation expectations, drawing families, individuals, local businesses, and community partners from across Flagler County and beyond. Throughout the day, the atmosphere reflected a shared commitment to supporting individuals with autism and their families while strengthening community connections.

The free event featured a self-paced walk/run with both 4K and one-mile options, complemented by music, local vendors, and inclusive, family-friendly activities designed for all ages and abilities. In partnership with the Flagler Beach Farmers Market, the park took on a vibrant, welcoming energy that carried through the entire event.
Beyond the festivities, the day underscored Cedar Bridge Foundation’s mission to create real-world opportunities that foster life skills, confidence, and meaningful relationships outside traditional classroom settings.
“This is more than an event, it’s our community,” said Terrie Baker, co-founder of Cedar Bridge Foundation. “These are individuals and families we know and walk alongside every day, which made seeing everyone come together so meaningful.”
Cedar Bridge Foundation continues to grow its programs and outreach, supporting individuals with autism and related disabilities through social, educational, and community-based initiatives.

The strong turnout and community response signal growing support for efforts centered on belonging, connection, and real-world engagement—demonstrating the impact of a community coming together with purpose.
