On Thursday, April 30, from 5 to 7 p.m., Flagler Palm Coast High School will host its first annual formal Student Art Show in Room 1-098, giving students an opportunity to share their work with the community in a gallery-style setting.

The evening will feature a diverse collection of student-created paintings, drawings, mixed media pieces and photography. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will also be served, prepared by the FPC Culinary Program under the direction of Annette Williams.

Photography teacher Angela Biggs said the event is designed to celebrate the creativity and dedication of the students while giving them a chance to build confidence by displaying their work publicly.

“We are reaching out on behalf of Flagler Palm Coast High School visual arts classes to invite you to engage with and attend an exciting upcoming event—our 1st annual formal Student Art Show,” Biggs said enthusiastically.

According to Biggs, the show is more than an evening of artwork. It is an opportunity for young artists to share their voices and connect with the broader community.

“This event celebrates the creativity and hard work of our students, showcasing a diverse range of artwork including paintings, drawings, mixed media, and photography,” she said. “It’s a meaningful opportunity for our young artists to share their voices, build confidence, and connect with the community.”

For many of the students, the show will mark the first time their work has been displayed for a public audience.

“For many, it’s their first time displaying their creativity with a wider audience, and having community support truly makes a difference in their confidence and excitement,” Biggs said.

School leaders hope the event will become an annual tradition and are encouraging residents, local organizations and community partners to attend and help spread the word.

“Your participation will directly impact our students by helping us provide a high-quality, inspiring experience that encourages artistic growth and public engagement,” Biggs said.

In addition to attending, Biggs is asking community partners to share information about the show with friends, colleagues and across their networks.

“We are seeking assistance from community partners like you to help make this event a success,” she said.

The Student Art Show will be open to the public April 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Room 1-098 at Flagler Palm Coast High School.
