FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – The inaugural Neighbors Helping Neighbors Help-A-Thon hosted by Flagler Broadcasting was nothing short of a triumph, thanks to the generosity of Flagler County residents and local businesses. With $36,073 raised in donations and an additional $14,685 worth of services pledged, the event demonstrated the power of community collaboration to support families in need.
Carrie Baird, CEO of Flagler Cares, expressed her excitement over the event’s success.
“I think that what happened today is so important for what we do. For all of the listeners, people now who maybe haven’t heard about us, know what we’re doing, and they might send one of their neighbors, and will get help from us. That’s important. Now [we] have some resources to help people address their critical issue and get them on a path to prosperity. Do you think it’s super important? Yes, I do.”

Baird continued, reflecting on the broader impact of the event, “We’ve always partnered with government and nonprofits, and now we have this whole list of businesses to partner with. We’re super excited.”
The Help-A-Thon was an overwhelming success, both financially and in terms of service commitments. As Baird admitted, it was a bit nerve-wracking to set such a high goal.
“I’m always nervous about setting us a goal because it feels risky, right? What if we don’t meet it, and that would feel sad? Yeah, I’m so excited,” she said.
The event’s success was made possible by the incredible support of the Flagler County community, who turned out in full force. Flagler Broadcasting was instrumental in bringing the event to life, ensuring its reach and impact.
