BUNNELL, FL – On Monday, April 8, 2024, the Flager County Sheriff’s Office, along with Flagler County Board of County Commissioners, the Flagler County School Board, and the City of Bunnell, filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit filed against them by Public Service Premier Consulting CEO Eric Josey on March 6.

The lawsuit claims that an interlocal agreement between the parties on the use of the George Washington Carver Center violated the Florida Interlocal Cooperation Act of 1969 and is against the will of Bunnell’s “indigenous Black residents.” The interlocal agreement was crafted with input from community stakeholders and considered in several public meetings.

“The motion to dismiss we filed yesterday explains how the lawsuit is completely frivolous and argues that Mr. Josey is a disgruntled citizen looking to dismantle positive community efforts to settle his own political grievances,” said Sheriff Staly.

This will be the only response by FCSO on this topic as the litigation is on-going.
