BUNNELL, FL – Three exceptional students who attend Flagler Schools received Sheriff Rick Staly’s “Great Kid Award.” Sheriff Staly presented the awards to two students on Monday, October 30, 2023. The third Great Kid Award was presented by Investigative Services Division Chief David Williams.

The “Great Kid” Award is presented every month during the school year to students who respect their peers, help others, work hard in academics, and represent themselves and their school well. The recipients are nominated by FCSO’s School Resource Deputies and school employees.

“I’m always proud of the amazing students who attend Flagler Schools!” said Sheriff Staly. “Congratulations to each of them for representing their schools and Flagler County so well. At FCSO, we are always looking for ways to recognize outstanding kids and highlight their good work and behavior.”

Below is a summary of each student and why they received the Great Kid Award.

Wadsworth Elementary School

Kelani Cuadrado

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office recognizes Wadsworth Elementary School student Kelani Cuadrado for being extremely kind to her classmates, as well as law enforcement, and always having a smile on her face. Kelani is very helpful and is a great role model to her peers and is to be commended for her dedication and commitment to maintaining a high degree of academic excellence.

 

Buddy Taylor Middle School

Lilly Hutton

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office recognizes Buddy Taylor Middle School student Lilly Hutton for her great attitude & positive personality. She was one of the first students to enroll in the Junior Police Academy (JPA) Program and was one of the top cadets. She is always eager to participate in activities, never misses a meeting, and even volunteers her time during the summer. Lilly displays the traits of what a Great Kid is!

Flagler Palm Coast High School

Charley Perry III

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office recognizes Flagler Palm Coast High School student Charley Perry III as a Great Kid. Charley is a dual sport athlete at FPC on the football team and the weightlifting team where he is a Florida State Champion. During his off time, he operates his own business helping members of the community with yard debris removal. Charley always displays a positive character and is the description of what it means to be an FPC Bulldog and a Great Kid.
