PALM COAST, FL (September 29, 2023) – The Junior Chamber of Commerce, a 501(c)3 non-profit charity arm of the Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber, hosted the first-of-six financial literacy workshops designed to help local students better prepare for their post-high school future.

“Banking Basics” was presented by Vallery Skoglund (Intracoastal Bank) and Vincent Amore (TrustCo Bank) on Thursday evening, September 28, 2023, at the Palm Coast Community Center. Photos below.

“We were proud to welcome dozens of local students and parents to our first financial literacy event, designed by private sector companies via the Junior Chamber, to help improve money management skills for our future workforce,” said Greg Blosé, President & CEO of the Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber and Board Chair of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Junior Chamber President & Founder Bryan Soudrain (former FPC High School student) said, “We are excited to partner with local financial institutions, like Intracoastal Bank and TrustCo Bank, to provide expert advice to Flagler County students and parents. Thanks to support from Chick-Fil-A Palm Coast, dinner was provided at no charge for all attendees.”

The Junior Chamber will host a total of six Financial Literacy workshops. The remaining workshops for 2023 are listed below. All will include dinner for local students and hosted for FREE at the Palm Coast Community Center:

  • Thursday, October 26, 2023, 6-7:30 p.m. – Creating Credit
  • Thursday, November 30, 2023, 6-7:30 p.m.- Budgeting/Long Term Savings
