Palm Coast – The week of June 13-19 is Waste and Recycling Workers Week and the City of Palm Coast is commemorating the event by highlighting the efforts of local waste/recycling hauler FCC Environmental Services. While the hauler is only weeks into their service tenure with the city, many of the workers have expressed their positive experiences meeting city residents and their excitement to get started in a new city.
“It feels good to know like I’m helping out the community,” said FCC Residential Solid Waste worker Sharity Wilson. “It makes me feel like I’m contributing to something that everyone needs, and it’s been great to get out and meet the residents one-on-one.”
Each week, the FCC is responsible for the waste and recycling collection services of nearly 42,000 residences throughout the City of Palm Coast. Since its start date on June 1, 2023, FCC Environmental has implemented more pick-up routes, fewer residential addresses per route, enhanced software and technology capabilities, and a comprehensive implementation plan.
