Knights of Columbus Notre Dame Council 10514 and Corpus Christi Assembly 2810 awarded scholarships to four young adults. The four were selected to receive a $500 scholarship to help toward college expenses based on the following criteria:
Applicant must be a member of Santa Maria del Mar Parish in Flagler Beach and looking to pursue undergraduate studies in a two or four year college or technical college. Applicant may be an entering freshman or upper classman.
Each applicant submitted a written essay that answered the following questions:
- What school or schools are you looking to attend
- What is your intended course of study
- What are the goals you hope to achieve
- What activities have you been involved in:
- Parish
- School
- Community
- Free time (hobbies)
- How would the grant monies be used
The scholarship awardees received their checks at the March Santa Maria del Mar Parish Breakfast. They were: Katie Pollak, Mike Silva, Marcella Warner, & Zachary Warner. Pastor Manny Lopez, Grand Knight Bryant Perszyk, and Faithful Navigator Dan Nagy presented the checks to each recipient.
