Flagler Sportfishing Club is honored to receive FWC’s Florida Youth Conservation
Centers Network fyccn! 2022 Outstanding Partner Award for its ‘kids4reel’ youth angler program. This award highlights organizations that provide exceptional service to Florida’s children and families, and FSC is proud to be among the partners that help “Create the Next Generation That Cares™”.

‘kids4reel’ conducts many community outreach initiatives throughout Flagler County, including annual kids’ fishing clinics, supporting local elementary schools’ fishing clubs, and youth scholarship opportunities. While these youth initiatives have always been part of the Club philosophy, the creation of the ‘kids4reel’ brand in 2022 helped galvanize club members and the community around initiatives to educate youth, not only in the sport of fishing but also in conservationism.

“We are proud to receive this prestigious award and appreciate the recognition of
Outstanding Partner from fyccn!. FSC and our ‘kids4reel’ team are making great progress in our community, teaching fishing, habitat and conservation fundamentals to our youth, as well as partnering with our local elementary schools’ development of fishing clubs for youth. These school programs include monthly fishing adventures for both boys and girls – many of the youth participating catch their very first fish! FSC and ‘kids4reel’ will be expanding their school programs in 2023,” says Club President, Captain Adam Morley.

Flagler Schools Superintendent Cathy Mittelstadt, who has seen first-hand this
partnership in action, adds, “I’ve been able to see the confidence grow inside our students when they are able to spend time with a rod and reel in their hand. The smiles you see when children successfully cast a line are moments I’ll always remember. This partnership continues to pay dividends for everyone involved.”

FSC is committed to sharing knowledge, promoting conservationism, and helping
children enjoy the simple pleasures of fishing. They are proud to have been recognized for this effort and look forward to continue nurturing a love for the outdoors.
