Flagler County Land Management is hosting a third in its limited guided tour series (limited in the number of participants and frequency) called a “A Walk in the Park” – this event also adds “in the Woods.”

This second tour takes place at 10 a.m. January 18 at Princess Place Preserve and is limited to eight (8) registrants. The exact meeting location will be released to those who register to take the two-hour walking tour.

“On these guided hikes, we’ll walk to sandhill, maritime hammock, and blackwater stream ecosystems. We’ll take a moment to observe wildlife we chance upon, and generally enjoy the natural beauty that is part of life here in Flagler County,” said Public Lands and Natural Resource Manager Michael Lagasse. “We are again limiting the participation, because the terrain is challenging, and we want to be able to experience the serenity of the preserve.”

Those who are participating should:

  • Expect a two-hour hike over uneven ground
  • Wear closed-toe shoes
  • Bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellent

Additional recommendations include:

  • Bring a hat and raincoat
  • Bring a trail snack

If bad weather is forecast, the guided tour will be cancelled up to 9 a.m. January 18. Registration is currently open at this link. All participants are required to sign a hold harmless waiver.
