Flagler Sheriff’s Children’s Charities, a tax-deductible 501(c)(3) charity established by Sheriff Rick Staly in 2020, will be hosting its ‘Shop With A Cop’ event on December 2, 2022, at the Palm Coast Walmart (174 Cypress Point Parkway). Each pay period, FCSO employees have the ability to donate to the Flagler Sheriff’s Children’s Charities and for 2022, FCSO personnel have donated a total of $18,912.92 towards the Shop With a Cop
program. This donation is up from the $15,776.83 donated by FCSO personnel in 2021.

‘Shop With A Cop’ is part of the mission of the Flagler Sheriff’s Children’s Charities and is sponsored and supported by FCSO employees, local businesses and community sponsors. The goal of ‘Shop With A Cop’ is to help children and families who are struggling due to economic circumstances, victims of domestic violence or who have been placed in foster care.

The event will kick off with deputies and police officers from the Flagler County area picking up the children and bringing them to the Sheriff’s Operations Center to play games and participate in other holiday activities. The children and deputies will then travel to Walmart, escorted by the FCSO Motors Unit with lights and sirens. After shopping, the event will end with hot dogs and hamburgers for the children. This year, each participating child will receive a $200 gift card, up from $175 last year, where they will have the opportunity to shop for themselves and family members.

“I’m very proud of our FCSO employees who are willing to donate their hard-earned money to this very special event every year,” Sheriff Rick Staly said.

“I’d like to extend an additional thank you to Dan Newlin Injury Attorneys, Joe Vece, AMVETS, and other community members who’ve generously donated to this year’s Shop with a Cop event. I encourage members of our community to support Flagler Sheriff’s Children’s Charities by making a tax-deductible donation. Our team is very excited about the upcoming event, and we are looking forward to watching the children get into the holiday spirit.”

Joe Vece and fellow Knights of the Inferno Motorcycle Club provide a donation to the Shop with a Cop efforts on November 29, 2022.
