As elected officials, members of the Bunnell City Commission have many responsibilities but on Friday night it was less work and more play as Mayor Catherine Robinson lit the city’s electric tree, welcoming residents to the celebration around Lake Lucille.
“It’s a wonderful evening. We really missed not being able to do this last year and we’re happy that we can do it again this year,” said Robinson.
Enlisting student dance teams, a variety of vendors and a DJ to keep the evening entertaining, the City of Bunnell capped it all off with soft, bubble snow, overseen by Joe Chirco from Wilco Restoration.
“I love it. That’s what it’s all about, giving back to the community,” said Chirco. “We just love being involved the community. Everybody’s so friendly, getting along. I love this area.”
Families stopped for photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus before taking a stroll around the lake in the sunset.
Bunnell City Commissioners Robert Barnes and Tonya Gordon enjoyed the opportunity to mix and mingle with residents.
“This is my first time and it’s awesome,” said Barnes.
