FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. – Just a reminder, that beginning on Monday, May 15th, 2023, our City will begin recycling plastic bags and plastic film into several receptacles that will be placed around Flagler Beach. The receptacles for the public will be placed at Flagler Beach City Hall (105 South 2nd Street), the Library (315 South 7th Street), and the Flagler Beach Police Department (204 South Flagler Avenue).
Examples of items that can be recycled in the receptacles include produce bags, store bags, ice bags, Ziploc© and other re-closable bags, cereal box liners, case overwrap, bread bags, newspaper sleeves, dry cleaning bags, bubble wrap, and plastic e-commerce mailers. Plastic bags and film packaging that stretches when pulled can be recycled. Polyethylene films labeled 2 & 4 can be recycled. Packaging that tears like paper, that is shiny, or that makes a crinkly or crunchy sound should not be recycled in the receptacles.
We are excited about this next step in the City of Flagler Beach’s recycling program and we thank everyone that considers participating!
