At the Flagler Sportfishing Club’s monthly meeting at the VFW on Old King’s Road, a new slate of Club Officers was introduced to the membership and installed.

These volunteer individuals, along with appointed Directors, will provide further progress in maintaining the ongoing mission to elevate fishing knowledge in Flagler County with a focus on conservation in a family friendly environment while continuing to give back to the community by charitable donation.

“The Fishing Club has made great progress in the past few years and the time has come to have a new, younger and forward thinking group lead us. Adam and Carlos will steer us in directions to save our fisheries and focus on conservation,” said outgoing president Captain Chris Christian.

The Crescent Beach-based Captain Adam Morley said he is looking forward to leading the organization to new heights as president.

“I’m excited to take the helm and continue the great work the club does in raising funds for local charities through our tournaments. In addition to continuing that work I’m eager to introduce more families to the sport of fishing while moving the club forward and promoting more sustainable practices so those families can enjoy the sport for generations to come,” said Morley.

The club hosts a number of fishing tournaments and the free Kids Fishing Clinic, this year set for July 30, 2022 from 9 am to noon at Hershel King Park, in Palm Coast.

Open to the public, the Flagler Sport Fishing Club meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Palm Coast VFW, located at 47 Old Kings Road N., at 7 p.m.
