FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Commissioner Andy Dance, who in July became the Chair of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Policy Committee within the Florida Association of Counties (FAC), is seeking input from Flagler County’s robust agricultural community about legislative issues affecting Florida agriculture.
“I am inviting local farmers, ranchers, growers, forestry interests and agricultural businesses to share the issues and challenges they are seeing so we can determine whether there are potential legislative solutions worth bringing forward through the FAC policy process.” Dance said. “I want to hear directly from our agricultural community about the issues affecting them locally, regionally, and statewide that may deserve legislative attention.”
Dance is particularly interested in issues and challenges that could potentially be addressed through the following:
-
Changes to existing Florida law
-
New legislation
-
Changes to state regulations or programs
-
State funding or cost-share opportunities
-
Protecting the ability of agricultural operations and rural landowners to remain viable as Florida continues to grow
