Disaster Volunteer Training Series 

A monthly training series sponsored through a partnership with Flagler County Emergency Management and conducted by Flagler Volunteer Services in partnership with local organizations to engage and educate local volunteers that wish to serve during times of emergencies or disasters.

Hurricane Preparedness Workshop

June 24, 2021/6:00 p.m. at the Flagler County EOC

Join us for this workshop to help make sure that you are prepared during the 2021 Hurricane Season!  You will hear about what to expect during this year’s Hurricane Season, how to ensure that you and your family are prepared for any storms that come our way and about the volunteer opportunities we expect to be available if our county is impacted.

Registration for training will open two weeks prior to the event.

FALL CERT CLASS

SEPTEMBER 27th – OCTOBER 27th

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during CERT exercises, members can assist their community or workplace following an emergency event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

Class runs from 5:30pm – 8:30pm.

Wednesday, October 20—CERT & Terrorism

Monday, October 25— Course Review, Final Exam & Simulation Brief

Wednesday, October 27—Disaster Simulation and Graduation

Attendance is necessary at ALL sessions to receive certification.

(If unable to attend a session, it can be made up in our summer class. You will then receive your certificate upon completion)

Upon completion of the classes, volunteers will receive a free T-shirt!

Hurricane Season runs from June 1, 2021 through November 30, 2021.  Are you prepared?  If you have not already done so, now is the time to get your home and your family ready.  Please take the time to prepare. The following are some great tools to help you do so:
