Flagler County, Fla. (April 29, 2023) – The Flagler Tiger Bay Club will host (Ret.) Lt. General Mark Hertling as the keynote speaker for during the May 17 luncheon meeting at the Hammock Dunes Club, starting at noon.

Currently serving as a CNN National Security and Military Analyst, Hertling offers a global perspective regarding the ongoing conflict between Russia and the Ukraine and will focus on the strategies and military phases of the campaign, including thoughts on the next steps.

Lieutenant General (retired) Mark Hertling retired from the Army in December 2012, finishing his 38-year Army career as the Commanding General of US Army, Europe. Hertling was a senior vice-president at AdventHealth from 2013-2018. After writing “Growing Physician Leaders,” he now teaches health care professionals at several other health care facilities.

He acts as an adjunct scholar of strategic leadership at the Crummer School of Business, Rollins College and he serves on the Dean’s Alliance at Indiana University’s School of Public Health.  Previously, President Obama appointed him as one of 25 members of the President’s Council for Fitness (2014-2017), and recently President Biden appointed him to the American Battle Monuments Commission where he served from 2021-23 as the Chairman.
