For the last several years the Palm Coast Fire Department assisted Pastor Jearlyn Dennie of Jearlyn Ministries Inc. with cooking turkeys for Thanksgiving. In the beginning, it was one or two, but as the years went on so did the ask. Last year Firefighter Brant Gammon suggested that he easily smoke several turkeys at once.

A few weeks ago Brant passed away, but his memory lives on. Abby Paci, wife of Lieutenant Joey Paci oversees the department fire family support program, The WAGS. In Brant’s honor, she wanted to organize Operation Gammons-giving.
When Abby first spoke with Pastor J, we learned that this year’s Thanksgiving meal did not happen due to a lack of sponsors. The WAGS stepped up!
This afternoon Frank & Karina Dudley of Palmetto Electric, Inc., also best friends of Brant, broke out their large smoker and smoked dozens of donated turkeys. Publix Supermarket of Town Center donated all of the turkeys. The Gammon Family and our WAGS made all of the sides.
Thanks to their selfless efforts, over 120 meals will be delivered to indigent, shut-in, ill, and senior citizen neighbors so that they have a hot Thanksgiving meal. All the meals are delivered by Jearlyn Ministries as part of her community outreach program that she has coordinated for the last 9 years.

In Memory of Firefighter Brant Gammon; Operation Gammons-giving will have served hundreds of families a meal cooked with love by the family & friends of the Palm Coast Fire Department WAGS.
