PALM COAST, FL (September 16, 2022) – Flagler County’s unemployment rate remained flat at 3.2%, according to the August 2022 data release from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
“Despite national economic recession signals, Florida and Flagler County continue to experience labor force growth and residents are finding work in our region,” said Greg Blosé, President & CEO of the Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce. “With Florida’s continued population and job growth, the big question is how much (or how long) will the Sunshine State be insulated from what Wall Street is predicting will be a global economic recession in late 2022, early 2023?”
The number of Flagler County residents that are employed (either working in this county or another county) increased from 48,770 workers in July 2022 to 49,111 in August 2022, an increase of 341 residents.
The number of unemployed job-seeking residents in Flagler County declined to 1,607 in August 2022, a decrease of 23 residents from last month’s report.
The Flagler County labor force continues to grow, checking in with 50,718 in August 2022.
