FLAGLER/VOLUSIA — Helping to make the holidays a little brighter for Vincent’s Clubhouse, the Bold Ladies in Business Flagler Chapter joined forces with the Bold Ladies’ Volusia Chapter to host a joint murder mystery fundraiser this month at the Baliker Gallery on A1A.

The Bold Ladies in Business host monthly networking and educational meetings, each benefiting a local nonprofit selected as that month’s fundraising recipient. Chosen as the December charity, Vincent’s Clubhouse ultimately received an impressive $6,000 from the event. The nonprofit serves youth and adults with special needs.

“For December, our charity of choice was Vincent’s Clubhouse. Teresa Cirelli and I put together that wonderful event at Baliker Gallery, and it was unbelievable,” said Ana Reyes-Ouzts, executive director of Bold Ladies in Business.

“Normally, we never charge for events, but this time we charged $35 for food. What happened next was incredible. All the food was donated. All the wine was donated. The bartender gave back his tips. Then an anonymous donor contributed $1,000, and one of the BOLD Ladies matched it. After that, the anonymous donor’s corporation matched another $1,000. When everything was added together, it came to $6,000.”

Reyes-Ouzts credited the success to the power of collaboration. “When great women come together to do great things, that’s when it happens,” she said.

Vincent’s Clubhouse has become deeply rooted in the community, beginning with founder Erica Flores and her son Vincent. The organization was created to address a critical gap in services for individuals with special needs as they transition into adulthood.

“She realized that if she didn’t step in to help, there simply weren’t enough resources—not just for children, but for adults once they turn 18,” Reyes-Ouzts added. “We have to do better, and that’s why Vincent’s Clubhouse is going to thrive.”
