PALATKA, Fla., Dec. 12, 2025 — The St. Johns River Water Management District (District) is now accepting applications on behalf of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the 2027 Cost-Share Program. The District works closely with the DEP, local governments and private partners to support projects that protect and improve water resources across the District’s 18-county service area.

The Cost-Share Program encourages collaboration and draws on the expertise of multiple partners to address shared water challenges. Applications are being accepted for funding consideration for alternative water supply and water conservation projects. Each application will be carefully reviewed, scored and ranked before being presented to the Governing Board for consideration. The approved list of projects will then be submitted to DEP for funding consideration in May 2026.

Project types and eligibility criteria:

Alternative water supply: Eligible projects are construction-ready and provide an alternative water supply benefit within the District. Priority is given to regional projects in areas with the greatest need and projects that offer the largest benefits to Florida’s water resources.

Water conservation: Projects that prevent or reduce water use to improve efficiency and avoid unnecessary use are eligible. These efforts support sustainable water management and help preserve local water resources for the future.

Applications are due no later than Jan. 29 at 5 p.m. For detailed information and application submissions, visit www.sjrwmd.com/localgovernments/funding/districtwide.
