Flagler County, FL — Take Stock in Children of Flagler County is proud to announce that Matanzas High School senior Remy Battles has been named a 2025 Leaders for Life Fellow, one of the most prestigious honors awarded through the Take Stock in Children program.

Take Stock in Children operates 45 local programs across Florida, each selecting two outstanding students to submit a competitive Leaders for Life application.

Applicants must complete two essays focused on their five-year educational and career plan and their leadership journey, as well as submit two letters of recommendation. From this statewide pool, applications are reviewed and narrowed down to 12 finalists, each of whom is awarded a MacBook to support their academic success.

As a finalist, Remy submitted a two-minute video interview showcasing her personal story, academic achievements, leadership experience, and the impact the Leaders for Life Fellowship would have on her future. Following this final round, the Asofsky Family Foundation selected six Fellows statewide—and Remy was among them.

Remy now joins the 16th class of Leaders for Life Fellows, representing the third Fellow from Flagler County and the first-ever recipient from Matanzas High School.

She will be formally recognized at an awards ceremony in Tallahassee in January, where she and the other Fellows will be honored by the Asofsky family.

“We are incredibly proud of Remy and the dedication, leadership, and resilience she has demonstrated,” said Selina Hernandez, Take Stock in Children Student Success Coordinator. “This fellowship will open doors to tremendous academic and professional opportunities, and we cannot wait to see what she accomplishes next.”
The Leaders for Life Fellowship provides recipients with multi-year financial, academic, and leadership support to help ensure they successfully complete college and enter the workforce prepared to lead.
