FLAGLER/ST. JOHNS – Spreading love, excitement, and a sense of belonging to foster children across the community, the Seawolf Privateers, Inc. have marked a meaningful and memorable Easter season—while also charting a course toward exciting new opportunities.

In the early morning hours, while most of the world still slept, members of the Krewe quietly set out across the county with a special mission: to deliver Easter magic to foster and displaced children. Armed with baskets, brightly colored eggs, and flashlights to guide their way, they tiptoed through yards, carefully placing surprises that would greet children at sunrise.

But beyond the baskets and eggs, there was something deeper unfolding in those still, quiet moments.

There is something incredibly moving about approaching a home before dawn, baskets in hand, knowing what the morning will bring. As eggs are hidden and gifts are set in place, the anticipation builds—not for those delivering the surprises, but for the children who will soon discover them.

Because when the sun rises on Easter morning, those children wake up to something unexpected. A basket filled with gifts. A yard full of surprises. Joy waiting for them before they even step outside.

And in many ways, that experience reflects the heart of Easter itself—a morning that begins in darkness and is met with hope. A moment of uncertainty met with joy. A feeling of emptiness replaced by something greater than imagined.

This year, the Seawolf Privateers added a meaningful new layer to the tradition. Each family received nine unique eggs, each containing a single word: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Inside every basket was also a new Seawolf Privateers Adventure Book, A New Beginning. In the story, the Seawolf children awaken aboard their ship on Easter morning, eager for an egg hunt. But instead of candy, they discover something far more meaningful. Each egg holds a word, and with each discovery, they learn how those values shape how they live and treat one another as part of the crew.

As children in the community searched their own yards, they followed that same journey—first discovering the words, then diving into the story that brings those lessons to life.

For many of the children served, the experience carried even greater significance.

Many are navigating profound transitions—removed from familiar surroundings, placed into new homes, and adjusting to entirely new environments. In those moments, it can be easy to feel lost, unseen, or unsure of where they belong.

But on this morning, something changed.

They woke up knowing someone had thought of them. Someone had shown up just for them. Someone wanted them to feel joy.

They woke up feeling seen. They woke up feeling loved.

The Seawolf Privateers say it is an incredible honor to be welcomed into these families’ lives in such a meaningful way—standing alongside foster parents and caregivers who open their homes and hearts every day, and joining a community effort to remind children they are not forgotten.

Throughout Easter day, messages poured in from families—photos of smiling faces, egg hunts in full swing, and moments of pure joy captured and shared. Thanks to community support, every registered child received an Easter blessing this year.

The organization expressed deep gratitude to its Krewe members who rose before dawn, as well as to local businesses and supporters who contributed donations and helped fill collection boxes.

From every basket delivered to every smile created, the message was clear: these children matter, they are cared for, and they are never alone.

While Easter marked a powerful moment of giving back, it was only part of what has been a busy and exciting month for founders Tim and Cayti Brinegar.

The couple was recently welcomed into a new role within the pirate community, joining The Pirate Store as Managing Partners—an announcement that signals a new chapter of growth and collaboration.

Captain Skar (Scott Erkelens) shared his enthusiasm for the addition:
