November 25, 2025 Palm Coast, FL- Christmas with Community Heroes is honored to announce the 17th annual Christmas shopping event supporting local children in need. What began in 2008 in the kitchen of founder Larry Jones has grown into a cherished Flagler County holiday tradition grounded in one simple mission: every child deserves a magical Christmas.
This year, the organization is supporting 100 local children, ages 4–12, each recommended by Flagler Schools Guidance Counselors who see firsthand which families may be facing hardship this holiday season.
Each child receives $150 to shop for gifts at Walmart and is paired with a “Community Hero” who walks beside them—helping them select items, stay on budget, and most importantly, feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Community Heroes may include: Firefighters • Nurses • Teachers • Law Enforcement • Veterans • Local Business Owners • Volunteers • Government Leaders • Elected Officials • Medical Professionals • Nonprofit Leaders • First Responders and everyday neighbors who want to give back.
“Our Community Heroes come from every corner of Flagler County,” said founder Larry Jones. “But on this night, they are all the same – someone who believes every child deserves joy.”
