The Flagler Tiger Bay Club is pleased to announce Kevin Guthrie, Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management as the November speaker.

Guthrie’s expertise allowed the Florida emergency management professionals to successfully navigate the preparation and response to one of the state’s most catastrophic hurricanes in September 2022, and he will share his firsthand perspective from the field during the luncheon meeting.

With over 30 years of experience in Public Safety and Emergency Management in Florida, Guthrie spent 23 years as a Police Officer and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office before serving as the Public Safety and Emergency Management Director for Flagler County’s Board of County Commissioners.

Working closely with former Florida Governor Rick Scott and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Guthrie’s appointment as the Director of FDEM was confirmed on May 1, 2021.

Guthrie serves on Florida’s Cyber Security Council, Domestic Security Oversight Council, State Emergency Response Commission, and the State’s Health Improvement Plan Steering Committee, in addition to Tulane University’s Emergency Management Industry Advisory Board.
